    Coffee, Coffee, & More Coffee

One of my favorite things to do in Seattle has been finding cute little cafes and coffee shops. I sit down with my artistic & local coffee and mess around on my laptop; sometimes writing a blog post, sometimes spending too much money on amazon, and sometimes just mindlessly scrolling through social media. Regardless, it’s been the most reliable reason to leave my apartment. Intrigue Chocolate & Coffee: This is probably my favorite coffee shop I’ve discovered, but it’s on the pricier side. It’s actually more a chocolate shop, and they use their own chocolate in the mochas. So they are incredibly flavorful & decadent. I have tried a cardamom…

    The First Month

I’ve officially spent over a full month in a different city alone. Outside of the first week that my mom was able to spend with me, I haven’t seen my friends or family in A MONTH. Of course FaceTime is a beautiful thing, texting is easy (although I suck at it,) and they’re always just a call a way. Although it’s an interesting concept that when I wake up for work, I already have a “Goodnight” text from my dad? As if it wasn’t hard enough keeping in contact with everyone back home while I was on night shift, now throw in a 3 hour difference just to spice things…

    Road Trippin’ & Brunchin’

If there’s one thing my mom and I can do well, it’s eat, but specifically brunch. There’s just something about breakfast food, I can support it any time of day. There’s not a single traditional breakfast item that is subpar. In fact, I’m pretty sure the worst part about brunch is having to decide what to order. A little recommendation for road tripping, if you eat a big brunch, you don’t have to pay for any other meals that day. Both full days of our trip, my mom and I found a brunch spot, and otherwise didn’t make any additional food pit stops. Eat one of the best types of…

    Finally.

I guess it’s about time I get this blog up & running again, since its sole purpose is to keep people up to date with my travel nurse adventures. And yes, I am finally in Seattle for my first contract. What a glorious feeling. I left Indiana on January 25th, a Friday night. It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t drive through the night and all day the following day on a road trip. Fortunately, my mom was able to tag along and was there for communication and snacks… I don’t give up DJ duty, even driving. We briefly stopped at a hotel in No Where, Utah before getting up…

    Exploring SF

Thursday. June 15, 2017. San Francisco. So a quick story. On Tuesday night after I finished packing everything into my pack, which was quite a struggle and took two attempts, I realized my pack was almost as full as it could get (mind you everything was stuffed inside for the flight). Therefore it was incredibly heavy. So I went through and took out what I deemed I could; all of a granola bar, applesauce squeeze, some energy gels, and sunscreen. I am guessing you know where this is going… and no, I am not in desperate need of a 40cal applesauce packet right now. I did however just have to…
